Safari Zone
Walk the Safari field, throw bait and rocks, and catch rare Pokémon.
Getting in
The Safari Zone near Fuchsia City opens with Koga’s Soul Badge. Inside you walk a field with a limited number of Safari Balls; stepping into grass can start an encounter with Pokémon you won’t find elsewhere.
In an encounter
Throw a Safari Ball, a rock (easier to catch, but it may run) or bait (it stays, but harder to catch). Berries from your farm work as special bait: Razz raises catch chance, Nanab lowers run chance, Pinap gives an extra item roll on a catch.
Items and Rare Candy
After a catch an item may appear on the field — walk onto it. Items include berries, stones, restores, Protein and Rare Candy (+1 level, +25% attack for good).
Safari level
Catches, throws and steps give Safari EXP, up to level 40. Each level raises catch chance, lowers run chance and makes eggs walk more per step.
